簡介
出生並成長在嚴肅的新加坡，并在大學主修金融管理的林毅煒從來沒想過他可能成為一名演員。直到他參加一個只有三十分鐘長的舞臺劇，並在新加坡的各個學校進行巡回演出。做為一名主修金融的大學生，當時他只是非常簡單的想要找一份暑期工作而已。
從登上舞臺的第一天開始，演出對林毅煒的生活來說就不再只是副業。此後他獲得表演學位（倫敦），並開始為新加坡、香港、澳門和倫敦的劇院寫劇本，表演及指導演出。林毅煒也在06年冬季結束了他在香港和澳門的演出的獨角戲《鼠牛日記》。
除了舞臺劇，林毅煒最近幾年也在電視電影行業有所發展。由於這個原因，他在2004年開始定居在中國北京，在這裏他成功的找到了美國投資和中國當地投資拍攝的電視、電影的演出角色。一有機會，林毅煒還喜歡在充滿異國情調的地點，如西藏，澳門和柬埔寨高棉拍攝他自己的短片和電影。
林毅煒在2008年在新加坡和澳門成立了自己的制作公司‘海島人電影’。他認為在港澳臺與新加的人有自己很獨特的文化與背景，也希望通過‘海島人’的電影裏表達出這些地區華人的心聲。林毅煒剛完成了他首次指導的長片電影《輪盤》，此電影正送往世界各地電影節參展及參賽。
旅行是林毅煒的最愛,他曾去過三十個國家,在中國國內地也已到過16個城市。林毅煒的另一個愛好是中國功夫,曾長期在北京居住的原因之一也是為了在那裏接中國武術的訓練。
